The marine scene in S.E. Asia is certainly kicking off in style having finished 2012 with the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta. 2013 began with the Royal Langkawi International Regatta followed by the Singapore Straits Regatta and now Phuket’s most fun sailing event, the Phuket Bay Regatta.

The boat show seasons starts with PIMEX – S.E. Asia’s premier boat show on the 21st of March – held at Royal Phuket Marina. There will be a number of new exhibitors and many regular faces showing new and exciting products to the market for the first time.  These include the New Aquariva Super 33, Da Vinci Yachts, the exciting SPLO series and the new Floating Casistas by Shinwoo.

Aquariva Super 33 best displays Riva’s natural style evolution over the years. This model has been developed by the designers of Officina Italiana Design, the exclusive designer of all the yachts in the Riva range, in association with AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology – Ferretti Group’s naval research and design centre, and the team of architects and designers of Centro Stile Ferretti Group.  It would be difficult to find a better pedigree for these ultra cool boating legends.

For the first time in Asia Da Vinci Yachts will display their range of yachts from 29 to 38 ft. Da Vinci Yachts is one of the leading shipyards for retro-modern motor yachts in Europe based in Holland.

Shinwoo return with their SPLO series of boats. These futuristic powerboats are built in South Korea. They will also be introducing their Floating Casistas.

As usual PIMEX promises to be a great event and not just for the boating enthusiast.  There is lots to entertain the whole family so if you’ve never been don’t miss it and if you have you’ll no doubt be there anyway.
